Hi Gail,
I was taught that breathing ozone does not give the body the chance to
stimulate lung tissue to manufacture enough antioxidants (ie.
superoxidedesmutase, glutathioneperoxidase, catalase and reductase) to protect
healthy cells from damage. Bocci, claims that it can cause airways to close down
as well and is strongly against it (see his latest book, "Ozone a New Medical
Drug"). Breathing it through olive oil or any other substance or way , it still
is ozone. I caution anyone AGAINST breathing it in on perpose.
That having been said, as the foremost clinical expert on the use of ozone
in North America, I have been breathing it in for the past 18 years during the
time I am performing direct IV therapy ( as well as when we did major
autohemotherapy) with no apparent adverse reactions nor apparent lung damage
(which I am trained to look for). If your reason for this method is needful
enough and no IV method nor rectal insufflation possible, then as the cliche
goes, "do so at your own risk".
Best of luck,
Dr. Howard Robins
