I know I rarely post,,,,man of few words! However, something
happened recently that I wanted to share. I live in a small town
(Mansfield, Ohio) that has a hospital that has a bad reputation. I
had my cancer treatment and my surgery in Columbus Ohio at The
James,,,,,which I feel is why I am alive today!

Anyway. Due to a lot of circumstances, too many to mention here, I
found myself with 1 pouch, no paste!!! I was in between funds and
couldn't place an order in time to change my pouch when needed!!

I remembered that when I met the local ET Nurse (from the bad
hospital) she said that they get samples and donations of pouches,
adhesives, etc. AND if I would ever need anything in a pinch I can
get help and advice from her department.

Well,,I called that department and left a message explaining my
problem. I received a message back telling me I was out of luck. I
was told that they do not hand out free supplies, if it was an
emergency I needed to go to their emergency room, or go to a
pharmacy. And if I did not have the money I could apply at a charity
center to find out if I could get them to give me th emoney t order.

I just recently moved,,,,somehow I lost a box of pouches. I had
planned ahead, I had not planned for this!! The Pharmacies in this
town do not carry supplies, they would need to order
them,,,,something I can do myself.

I have put in my order. My pouch is secure to me with duct tape, I
can feel the irritation but must wait for the order to come in.

I guess I just wanted to share this with you so that if you ever
find yourself in this town make sure you have your supplies or at
least a good roll of duct tape.
