Cody
I have often tried to find the down side of a ilestomy.
I gave up some years back.
After 12 years of dealing with u c I had the surgery for an ilestomy,I never
looked back.
It has given me a whole ne life and something I should have done years ago.
I am still cancer free and Iam going on 8 years with my ilestomy.
Odor's ? there is a product out called M 9 that takes care of that.
If you have a partner worth her/his salt thay wont even notice you havea n
ostomy.and there are products out for that also.
Its kind of a belt thingy.
has my life changed? 300%
having said all this look for a good E T nurse.
She works directly with the surgeon and usually her word is written in
granite, the Dr goes by what she says.
he will have a consoltation with you as well and will lay out the options.,he
will dot the I's and cross the T's
If you are going through what I did , get the surgery .
I think you will be happier.
Best of luck
Mike
PS
When you are sitting down in front
of the Dr as questions like
How many of the ostomy surgeries has he /she done.
has he had any problems or his patients had broblems.
if the dr gets mad ,,get another Dr.
But ASK questions
