Manchester Traffic Warden Damien Smethurst was feeling pretty pleased
with himself. In one shift his issuing of 101 parking infringements
was double his usual haul. However his delight was shortlived.
He had forgotten it was a public holiday when most of the usual
parking restrictions do not apply.
So all the booked motorists complained and every ticket was
cancelled. Damien's bosses have indicated that they would "have a
chat" with him over this.
