Just a couple of odd things in the local papers that caught our eye
and thought we would pass on.
Police in Germany pulled over a motorist haring down an autobahn with
his mother's body in a coffin strapped to the roof of his car.
His explanation was that he was taking her body to the cemetery
himself, as a cost saving exercise.
He now faces a very hefty fine, upwards of $8000 dollars, for
conveying a corpse without a proper hearse and for not using the
services of a licensed Undertaker.
And in New Zealand a 79 year old man attended his grandaughter's
wedding. Two days after he had died.
Though he carked it several days before whilst celebrating his 79th
birthday his family decided he should still get to be at the wedding
anyway.
Sooo... they put him and his coffin at the side of the church during
the ceremony. And he got to go to the reception as well. The family
stuck his open casket at the end of the hall.
" He was just there....and people went up to see him," explained the
Bride's mother.
Anyway, with the family celebrations over, Grandpa was finally laid
to rest.
Cheers
