Description
This group is dedicated to the discussion and practice of optimal behvaiors as developed by Dr. Alvin R. Mahrer (Professor Emeritus) at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
The background theory and practice of learning "optimal behaviors" can be found in the books - The Optimal Behavior (2009)and The Manual of Optimal Behaviors (2008).
Just reading about the way you are or how to make life changes is almost never enough. One has to engage and discover deeper qualities and practice these. "The idea is more one of practice, practice, practice, rather than getting the idea, trying it out a few times, and away you go.... optimal behaviors require training and practice to reach increasing levels of competence..."(AM)
"The choice is between being the ordinary person you ordinarily are, or being a person who is inclined toward an optimal state....It is as if you can now, as you are awakening, have a choice of who and what you are to be..." (AM)
