A couple months ago I announced a new improv group, Shenanigans, that I was
forming for high-functioning teens on the autistic spectrum. My inspiration is
my 14-yr-old grandson who is PDD-NOS and has social skills issues, like so many
others like him.
The two Shenanigans summer camps were a success! Many of our parents and players
asked for more, so I have put together a series of weekly classes during July.
What: Shenanigans July Blast!
Who: High-functioning teens on the autistic spectrum; no acting experience
needed!
When: 4 Thursdays beginning July 9, 6:00-8:30pm
Where: The Basement Theatre, 175 W Wieuca Rd NE, Atlanta, 30342
Cost: $170 plus $15 registration and materials fee (includes t-shirt)
Through improv games that work on focus, response, and awareness, our players
practice key social skills while having fun and making new friends. Our director
has a wonderful sense of humor and patience, and really "gets it" about autism.
The kids love him!
If you want more info, or to register, please give me a call or send me an
email.
Thanks!
