Autism Votes iniative for next legislative session notice   Message List

Hey all,

Thanks for taking the time to be interested in what Bill and I are
pursuing on the legislative front. As you have heard from us before, we
intend to introduce a bill during the upcoming legislative session of
the Georgia General Assembly that will require insurance companies to
provide coverage for certain autism related treatments and therapies.
For anyone who was not at the walk meeting last night and has questions
about what we are doing, please feel free to contact Bill or I and we'll
be happy to help. As we mentioned, there are a couple of quick items
that you can help us with. Those are as follows:

- Please continue to encourage people to sign up at the
www.autismvotes.org/georgia website. We are looking for 5 - 10 people
from each of Georgia's 184 districts so that when we need to put
pressure on a particular legislator from his/her own constituents, we
are guaranteed to have people from that district already in our contact
database. As part of that effort, we have a tool you can use in the
form of a letter created by one of our grass roots district captains.
As with walk team letters, feel free to use the attached sample and
modify as you desire to send out to friends and family.

- We are looking to fill gaps in specific districts where we don't have
anyone signed up yet. The district numbers are as follows:

2,18, 70, 100, 120, 121, 122, 125, 133, 135, 138, 139, 141, 142, 144,
145, 147, 149, 151, 154, 170, 171 and 179.

We have attached a map of GA with those districts shaded as well as a
spreadsheet list if you prefer that format. If you know anyone in these
districts, please encourage them to sign up at autismvotes.org so we can
fill in those empty districts!

- As you might also do for the walk, please consider adding the
following to your email signatures: "Want to end autism insurance
coverage discrimination in Georgia? Visit www.autismvotes.org/georgia
to find out more information."

Thanks for any help you can provide and we'll keep you posted as things
move forward.
