Hepatitis C Movement for Awareness

Hi All,

I am working with Mr. Gazzola and support the effort of
accountability for pharmaceutical's withholding important
treatment information from patients. I know too many suffering
sever side effects from the Hepatitis c treatment. Plenty of
knowledge existed about these side effects, but, we were not
warned by physicians or by the product insert provided with the
medicine.

At one point, two different inserts were given out at the same
time. The newer one warned of more autoimmune
consequences while the other did not. Instead of pulling the
product insert to warn all patients of the newly reveled side
effects, Schering Plough chose to save the money. Recently,
charges were laid against Schering for unscrupulous business
practices, paying a commission to physicians for patients
referred.

For those the medicine has helped, I am very grateful. But these
patients are few and far between. Now, many must deal with a
much lower standard in the quality of life than before the
medicines. Some, despite clearing the virus, are much worse off
than living with the virus. The pushto take the treatment has
taken a serious toll on our lives.

I personally feel if we don't hold the pharmaceuticals
accountable, they will continue to choose money over lives.
Schering has cost our community dearly and our sacrifice
surpasses any dollar value obtained in this action.
