I just sent out two documents, described below, on IVD and PGD. If you're
interested I'll be happy to share them with you, just send me an email!

Options for having children - IVF and PGD Q&A's
This document may help HD families to better understand exactly what IVF
[in-vitro fertilization] or PGD [preimplantation genetic diagnosis] are, the
different types that are available, what they entail and even your choices after
this procedure is done for what you will need to consider about extra embryos
that you decide you don't want to use. This document is not HD specific, just
provides general questions and answers that I hope will be helpful to any HD
family looking for alternative choices to have children of their own without
those children being at-risk for HD!
"HD Free with PGD"
This one combines several articles written by a young lady named Stacy, and is
based on her and her husband's experiences going through the PGD process. Those
articles are available on her website but, with her permission, I've combined
them all into one word document for printing and sharing that covers:
Planning an HD Family With IVG/PGD
A Personal Story [including a beautiful picture of their daughters Laurel and
Roxanne born October 23, 2006]
Deciding to test for Huntington's Disease
Working with your Insurance company [very valuable information!]
Stacy's only request is that when you share this article that you let any couple
interested in PGD know that she is available and would love to help them in any
way needed, either individually or in a group.
Stacy worked with the Orange County [CA.] Chapter and the University of
California-Irvine to refine information on PGD that I sent out to some of you a
few months back. It is now ready for distribution in a 2 page PDF brochure, "HD
Free With HD". This brohure can also be downloaded directly from Stacy's
website www.HDFreeWithPGD.com
