ask them to do a home study on you and your mom also ask if they have
guardian ad litum where you are. we have thqt here in fla and they are
volunteers who
decide what is in the best interests of the children . they have a large
influence on the judge because they are impartial. also i would be on the phone
a
lot with the caseworker trying hard to be her best friend. being there to take
the kids toi appts etc. the good news is that the older girl may be if she's
not too cute difficult to adpot out and that would speak to keeping her with
family. also it would be omportant to work out contingency plans that could be
implemented if/ when things get bad in thew future. if you show them the
family has a vialble plan, the resiources and the commitment then although they
will make you crazy for months you should win out in the end. if you have health
insurance going for mental/ physical evaluations and getting these
professionals to write letters on your behalf would be important. i used to do
fostercare as a social worker for a living so if you can find a monster
attorney who
is a child advocate - the workers will know who terrifies the system that
person would probably help you. most of the child advocates who do this do it
for
the love of kids clare
