Many of you met a dynamic young lady, Lauren Holder [a member of the HDSA NYA]
at the convention in OKC this year. Shortly after the convention Lauren moved
from Connecticut to North Carolina where her husband's family lives. Lauren,
who pushed advocacy for HD in Connecticut and had articles published there,
didn't wait long to grab the attention of the North Carolina folks!
Barely living there two months, Lauren has already started an HD support group
in the Winston-Salem area and has several fund raisers planned in the area!
"My generation has got to find a cure," she [Lauren] said. AMEN and you ROCK
NYA gals & guys!
GRRRRReat article Lauren, you've done another outstanding job bringing awareness
to HD and am sure will knock the socks off the folks in the Winston-Salem area
this morning when they read their newspaper.
The journalist, Janice Gaston, also interviewed Dr. Walker from Wake Forest on
HD research. So, because of Lauren, there are two articles about HD in one
newspaper on the same day! There's an email for Janice so if you want, you can
send her a thank you! There is also a place by each article where you can
provide your comments & appreciation!
Below are the links to both articles......or see attached WordDOC for printing
and sharing both!
Thank YOU Lauren!
Love
Jean
