This group is primarily for Oconee County Public Safety, However, anyone involved in Public Safety Diving is encouraged to join. Oconee County sits on the North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia border. Our response area includes Lake Keowee, Lake Jocassee, Lake Hartwell, creating more than 300 miles of shoreline in our area of responsibility. We also have the Chattooga River, and Chauga rivers, along with many flood control and private lakes. We are a 501C(3) Not-for-Profit Corporation. No member receives payment for his or her work.
Mission Statement
It is the primary mission of the Oconee County Dive Team (OCDT) to respond drowning or other water related emergencies in Oconee County, South Carolina for the purpose of rescue. To assist law enforcement agencies with underwater search, recovery, and evidence processing and documentation of the underwater crime scene as requested. Our secondary missions include: underwater survey and photography, water sampling, recovery, and other underwater related operations that provide benefits to the community as needed. OCDT will respond to requests for mutual aid, following Oconee EMA approval.
The Oconee County Dive Team is a NIMS Type 1 Public Safety Dive Team, trained and equipped with surface supplied diving systems.

Normal monthly meeting forth Tuesday each month meet at Oconee LEC, in the EMA Conference Room at 6PM. Normal training in water training sessions are the following Sunday, from 1PM to end.
