Re: re:i,m new.

Liz and Denise, (and of course, the rest)

Thank you both so much for your comments. I'm not OLD, OLD...but
older than a lot of people who are in here or online. And, I guess
too old to be reading that word over and over. I'm no prude, by any
means...I use it as well...but not on here. Time and place for
everything.

I do hope, however, that I wasn't too cranky to put off the new person
coming back and chatting/posting. I'm sorry if I was. Welcome, new
person, and please don't be afraid to come back.

I have not ever met anyone in person with OCD, but this forum sure
helps and others that I'm in/were in. You find out you aren't the
weirdest person alive. You aren't the only one who has really morbid
thoughts. You aren't the only one who feels like a total nutcase.
Plus, you get to find out that if a particular drug/therapy is no
good, OR is of fantastic use, first hand.

I have a book called THE OCD WORKBOOK. It's ok. It's kind of a daily
work book that you fill in stuff....and it's to try to help you
"overcome" OCD. I don't think anyone ever overcomes it...but it
certainly gives you a goal to work towards. I have done some
highlighting in it (LOVE highlighters and books....what a pair), but I
haven't written anything in it as yet. I guess it doesn't work if I
don't put my effort in it, eh?!!haha. But, the stuff in it is really
quite useful. I got it off Amazon.

Here's two PERSONAL QUESTIONS...I'm not too awfully shy about anything
related to my OCD...

1> For married folks: Does this present a problem in your marriage,
and how much of it is a problem? I ask because we're having some
pretty serious problems right now and I feel that most of it is due to
the OCD, but I feel like I'm blaming it for things that might not be
related to it.

2> For women only (no men, simply because we all get the lowdown on
you all in this area from everything we read, but there's nothing
about women): Sex drive? Do you have it? Have you ever had it? Is
it better/worse with/without meds?
Again, I'm asking because we'er having difficulty in this area, as
well. 6 years we've been married...and again, I don't want to blame
my OCD for something that might not be related to it.

Plus, we have two cultures living in the house. I believe I have said
before that I'm American and my husband is Scottish. We live in
Scotland.

My email is
charmaine@...
if anyone would like to answer in personal email only.

Thanks again for the support on my answer to the new person...and
thanks for listening to me babble and my questions...
