Christians with Hoarding, SerenityBayHoarding
This is an exclusive group for women hoarders who are trying to understand their illness. It is a closed group for those who are struggling and dealing with their issues. There are many aspects, which contribute to this psychological illness. If you don't own the problem you will never recover. This is about obsession recovery from our stuff, it is intertwined with many other factors. We are here for Fun, Christian Fellowship and Encouragement. I am not an expert in the field but a fellow traveler who is trying to find recovery and looking for friendship. Rest assured, you are not alone. If you have trouble making decisions on where to start and what to toss, you have come to the right place. Let's work together on downsizing and tossing our clutter. "Less is More"…our vision is to have homes that are "User Friendly" and "Company Ready" at all times. This will be a safe place to vent and share our journey. Blessings, Anna http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SerenityBayHoarding/ |

Compulsive Skin Picking (CSP) support: Pickaderms
Pickaderms is a community of those who are keen to share support and work at overcoming Compulsive Skin Picking (CSP). The approach we encourage on this list is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) including Habit Reversal, as this is the treatment most likely to lead to recovery. We want you to feel you can post safely and in confidence, so membership is strictly controlled. The group is open to pickers of any part of the body as well as nail and cheek biters, but restricted to those over the age of 13. Parents of pickers under this age are also welcome to join. To avoid delays please declare your status clearly when applying e.g. parent of child aged 6, or picker over the age of thirteen. Group advisor/moderator is James Claiborn, PhD ABPP, and group moderator is Louise. Please check the website for further information about membership before applying. Vague applications will be rejected automatically but you may reapply if you qualify for membership. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pickaderms/ |

Jewish-Scrupe-Group
This group is for Jewish OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) sufferers with scrupulosity obsessions. CBT methods (including ERP- Exposure and Response prevention) are the interventions which have been proven to be best for working with OCD, but those with scrupulosity often find it difficult to use them with religious obsessions, since they believe they are disappointing G-d by doing so. That makes this one of the hardest obsessions to deal with. This group is a place where those with religious- Jewish- scrupe can discuss and help each other recognize the difference between "because G-d wants me to" and an OCD obsession, and is moderated by a Jewish CBT therapist who can help them face and deal with the obsessions (and the continual "shailah asking"). Members have the option to remain anonymous and conceal their email addresses. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Jewish-Scrupe-Group/ |

Pure-O-OCD
This is a group for people with obsessive compulsive disorder whose compulsions are primarily mental in nature. This is commonly given the misnomer "Pure O" or "pure obsessional" because the compulsive behavior is less visible to outsiders and occasionally goes unnoticed even by the sufferer. Obsessions frequently include but are not limited to a fear of harming others or oneself, doubts about sexual orientation, fear of being a sexual deviant or predator, fear of not understanding others or of being misunderstood, obsession with personal past or pasts of others, fear of lying, and fear of death and disease. Mental compulsions include but are not limited to seeking reassurance from others or from within, confessing, thinking "neutralizing" thoughts, retracing or replaying events, checking for sexual arousal, and "mental checking" or intentionally bringing up an obsession to see if it still produces anxiety. This group is a non-judgemental safe place to discuss the OCD experience and help each other achieve better mental health through information and understanding. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pure_o_ocd |

Scrupe Group
The Scrupe Group is a group for Christians and others suffering from scrupulosity, the religious manifestation of OCD. It was founded and is presently moderated by a Lutheran minister who has OCD himself. It recently moved to Yahoo Groups from Delphi Forums, where it functioned on and off for a number of years, following in the footsteps of Martin Luther, Phillip Melanchton, John Bunyan, St. Therese of Liseaux, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and all the other Christians who have suffered from OCD down through the centuries. Pretty distinguished company, eh? http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/the_scrupe_group |
