Michelle - Thanks for the information. Sorry to hear that Remicade isn't really effective for you. Hopefully, Humira will work when you're ready to change Rx's.
I have been on remicade for almost a year. I never made it to eight weeks. by the time six weeks came aroun d I was sick again. so I was at six weeks for awhile. then my doctor change it to five weeks and increased the dosage. it work for a few months. I am not doing as well as I had hoped.
How long have you been on Remicade? I know everyone is different. My daughter's doctor mentioned he has some patients that started on Remicade once it was approved for treatment of Crohn's (I think it was 98 or 99), and it's still working for them. Humira would be the next step for her, as well.
try the antacid, it can't hurt and may help. the achieness is a hard one everyone says it is the crohn's. sometimes the symptons can make me crazy. I hope that you feel better soon. as for the remicade. it was good for awhile I atinuated on this medecine. I am taking double the dose every five weeks. next is humara.
Michelle... The pain is in a few places. Right below my sternum (Burning). across my belly at the belly button (Sharp sometimes achy). And down the left side back into my body to the back side (Sharp but goes achy as the pain goes down and back). Does that make sense? My Dr gave me a prescription for an antacid but i don't feel like it is that high. But i am still trying to figure out what i feel. And how to describe it well. Ah!! What do you guys know about Remicade. It sounds good. But who knows?
I have been taking 3 Asacol 3 times a day for about 3 months as well as the Mesalamine enema at night. And the last 4 days i have stopped. We were out of town...
shannon the prednisone will make you feel good. I would wait until you see your doctor before stopping your medication. that is my humble opinion. michelle...

I agree with Michelle. You won't be on prednisone forever (hopefully) and you need to be sure that you're not going to flare again once you start tapering off...

shannon I did not know that is was your stomach burning. mine did as well. it was the prednisone that did that. my doctor started me on axid. this helped...
