I believe I may have GERD, or something like it, and would appreciate
any recommendations for an "adult" GI. (Plus, I'm due for another
colonoscopy in '07 (family hx of colon cancer before age 50), and the
surgeon who did my last one lacked the finesse that I'm told GIs
usually have when it comes to endoscopic procedures (I remember
screaming out in pain despite being knocked out -- and yes, they did
confirm this)).

So being the bowel experts that y'all are, please steer me in the
right direction. I prefer physicians who respect my intelligence,
answer my questions in a straightforward manner, and address my
concerns without being patronizing. Oh, and someone who can maneuver
their way through my bowels without puncturing or otherwise causing me
great distress.

Any suggestions?
