Jean,
I’ve been at 50mg for a while now.
They run this Prometheus test which measures how much beneficial 6mp
metabolizes in the body. If it’s low, they can try raising the 6mp to a
higher dosage, but it doesn’t guarantee results. It turns out that even
going up to 100mg didn’t cause an increase in the beneficial portion of
6mp for me, so they kept it down at 50mg and I’m also on Remicade now.
If 75mg results in an increase in your blood levels, they may keep him at that
for a long time.
Regards,
Jon

Subject: [oc_ccfa] What dosing
level for 6mp and how long until you reached "therapeutic" levels?
Hi folks,
My 11yo son's 6-week blood test for 6mp came back "a little low"
(whatever that means), and he's been instructed to go up to 75mg. I'm
curious how much the adult IBDers have had to take and how long it
took to get to that magic number.
Thanks,
Jean
