My name is Judy Bateman. I am 33 years old. Weigh 260lbs
right now. I had the vertical banding about a year ago. I lost like 78 lbs, then
gained about 30lbs back. I am also an emotional eater, I binge eat daily. Stress
and anxiety increase my eating problems. I turn to food for every and any
reason. I am in dire need of someone that I could talk to and receive support,
as well as be a support for you. I live in Pittsburgh PA. I am married. My
husband also had the vertical banding about two years ago. He was 600lbs before
surgery and now is 345. I'm very proud of him. He is now at the point where he
is at a stand still and is struggling to lose weight. I've been at that point
for quite some time. I mostly eat junk food every day. I don't do well with
bulky foods. I also throw up atleast 1-4 times daily. Depends on what kind of
day I'm having. This binge eating and purging is becoming a problem. I do see a
therapist for counseling, however I think I need to see
someone that is more experienced with eating disorders. Well I need to get to
bed. I'm really exhausted I just got off work at 11pm. Hope to hear from you.

To make a long story short, my parents helped me to get down to 397
lbs. by June 2002. It was for sure an extreme struggle for me, and
tons of stress for my parents as well. I was hardly able to walk,
move around, or take care of myself. I was in so much pain because
of my weight. I've tried almost every diet from A-Z, and even
considering starving myself. Of course that was too impossible
because of my binge eating problem.

My last resort in life was the Roux-NY Gastric Bypass Surgery for
weight loss. I've had that done in June 2002. That was a HUGE
success for me! I've gone from 397 down to 185 lbs. I'm now at the
hardest stage of losing weight. Where I lose a little, gain a
little, or maintain. Plus, dieting is so much hell for me, and the
exercising - no problemo! I do my best to stay active. I LOVE to
dance, especially to hip hop, dance, and techno/house music.

Basically, I'm looking for support, friends, and if possible, an
exercise buddy (for those who live in San Diego or around San Diego).

Hope to hear from some of you soon. I'm there for you, if anyone
needs support or friends as well. Keep it up everyone! =0)
