Well I am about 2 weeks post op and feeling pretty good. I was home
for a few days after the surgery, but was in no mood to go on the
computer. Then I went down the shore to recuperate for a few days
and just got home last night.

I stayed in the hospital an extra night, not because of any
complications. I was paying for all this myself and only paid for a
23 hr stay, so they expected me to be out of the hospital at about 7
am, but I was in too much pain and every time I tried to get up I
would get really nauseous. So my mother went down to billing and said
she was just going to pay the extra money to keep me there, but they
said "no it's ok, we see how bad of shape she is in so we won't
charge you, they really can't expect you to get out of surgery at
around 4pm and then be out at 7am the next morning". Well, it turned
out that they didn't mean an entire extra day, so they did preset us
with a bill when we were leaving the next day. Oh well, nothing I
can do now. There was no way I could have left the hospital any
earlier than I did.

So now I am doing pretty good. Getting around well. Pain, of
course, but trying to ween myself off of the heavy duty pain killers.

I have 4 drains. 2 in the abdominal and 2 in the groin. I go back
on Wed and hopefully will get the drains out. The girdle is a pain,
but the parts that are not in it are like 3 times their regular size
so it's staying put. When I did take it off to shower I was so
amazed. I love my new belly button and I can't believe these thighs
and stomach are mine.

I am very itchy though, is that normal? I assume it is, but has
anyone else had it?

Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm doing good and
thanks for your well wishes before.

Love - Tara
