Thanks for having this group.. I hope someone here can help me. I had this
surgery 3/2002 and felt good about my weight loss.. Yet, I am still considered
obese, but I was so happy to be doing EVERYTHING that it didn't matter to me..
Well, I had to have a CT scan done for a mass on my ovary and they found a
hiatal hernia.. I called a surgeon near me and he stated I needed it repaired
but he wouldn't touch someone else's work so I called my MD 2 hours away in
Gainsville Fl. And the nurse there said it will probably need to be repaired..
She said it was common..
I have not heard of anyone in these groups that have had one... Is there
anyone out there that knows about this??? Could use some help at what I might
have to go through..

Welcome to the group. You don't appear to be any different than most of us.
A good place to start is <http://www.obesityhelp.com> Also, go into your
search engine and type in <gastric bypass surgery>
I would also like to suggest a book that we all have bought. It's called
"WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY, FINDING THE THIN PERSON HIDING INSIDE YOU" By Barbara
Thompson. It's available on her website at <http://www.wlscenter.com>
