Hi Susan, we are from Sth Auckland, and my husband was diagnosed at
41yrs of age back in 2004 with a Gde 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma in his
left frontal lobe.
He had surgery and radiation in 2004, and another surgery and chemo in
2005.
It is now coming up 5 yrs in March, and our children are now 6 & 11.
Despite what we were told by Oncologist/Neurologists (the doom and
gloom, and worst case scenarios) he is doing reasonably well, and has
had continued good MRI results since 2005.
Although the immediate world between a patient with a Gde 3 and a Gde
4 is not too dissimilar, the treatment is or can be.
I can well imagine at the moment you are feeling quite shell shocked.
If we can be of any help here on this board just let us know
Whereabouts in NZ are you from?
take care
Linda
