I believe Dendritic cell vaccines are one of the most promising new
treatment areas for gliomas. There are several in mid-stage
development overseas and the results so far have been very promising.
Did you know that the Malaghan Institute here in Wellington are also
developing dendritic cell vaccines for cancer treatment. They have
already trialled them on melanomas and, in conjunction with the
Wellington Cancer Centre/Hospital, are close to starting a phase 1
trial for brain tumours (recurrent GBMs).
