Hi Kath
Sorry for late reply.
Lynda has been on Temodal for 19 cycles now - 6 cycles standard
therapy plus 13 cycles of metronomic (daily) Temodal. Our oncologist
wanted to follow the standard 6 cycles then stop, but after doing our
own research we convinced him to let us stay on it. It is expensive as
we are paying for it privately, but we were not comfortable in just
stopping and doing nothing.
Henry Friedman at Duke University says that GBM patients should be on
Temodal indefinitely, provided their blood counts can handle it.
Several other neuro-oncologists in the US and Australia say the same
thing. Of course, in Australia it is covered by the PBS so it is much
easier for patients to stay on it.
Hope Nick's MRI result was good, sorry again for late reply.
