I agree that cna's are grossly underpaid thats why we treat ours like royalty

as for why a nurse should or shouldnt go into the field, we all have our
opinions and I will leave it at that.

competent individuals. However, they don't get paid what they're worth.

Many of our nurses would not be in the profession if it weren't for the
money. Let's not kid ourselves here. Of course, you have to like what
you do, at least a little bit, but come on!

There was a big brouhaha over this several months ago on this list (or
another list). It bugs me to no end when people criticize nurses
because one of their motivations for going into the profession was
needing a steady job with a good income. It's This doesn't mean that
they aren't caring people, or that they aren't good at their jobs.

As one of those who are definitely going into this for the money, I
truly resent comments such as that above. I don't want to work at
Wal-Mart, the only other option around here. This doesn't mean that I'm
not a good nurse or a caring person. But if nursing only paid $8.00 per
hour, I wouldn't be one. That's reality, folks.
