Hi Lisa, and welcome!

I've been lurking for a while now. I quit my last nusing home job in August of
2003 and started direct care in a "home for special children". It's an ICF/MR
facility and we care for mentally and physcially challenged children!

The staff:resident ration there is 3:1 in the home (there are four homes that
ring a large play room), 3:1 outside and 1:1 on outings, van rides, ect. The
nursing home where I worked was approximatley 14:1, but you could usually pull
in help from another CNA if you couldn't life someone.

I'm now about to start yet another new job, but this will be at the same ICF
facility, so I"m excited. I won't be working in direct care anymore (the same
thing as CNA work), but will be up front in the office :).
