Re: Am I expecting too much?

No, I dont believe that you were wrong. I believe that the "leader"
should have been more patient with you not getting out of line.
That was so wrong. She needs to remember her first time starting
out. I think that alot of places like this always says that they
wont leave you alone...but they do. I think that is wrong.
You should remind this "leader" that she too was once new in this
field and ask her to remember how she felt when she first started.
Speak your mind dont let the older cna's run you over.
I have a issue w/ new cna's ...dont be afraid of the residents.
Lift as great as you can but that is my deal.
Alzheimer patients are very difficult, I worked years in a lock down
unit dealing with them all the time ALONE! It was so hard. Getting
beat up and screamed at came with the territory. I was left alone
all the time so if I got hurt no one not even a nurse would have
known. So these CNA's that has training under their belt needs to
realize how serious this is to be left "alone". It isnt fun to be
on the floor alone w/ alzheimers even after you get the routine down.
It seems to me that "Team Work" isnt implied there. Maybe that
should be brought up. You are there to take care of these people
and so are they! They should care if other residents of that
facility is being taken care of no matter what hall it is on! No
matter what side of the building its on.
This should be taken up with your person who hired you.
Do not stand back and get hurt and not get the proper training
dealing with these kind of patients.
Well I got to run...I have to go to work now. Good Luck and
remember dont take no SHIT!
Sheila
