Re: atrial repolarization

It is quite possible to have the p without the qrs as in the case of my son.
His pacer was atrial demand. When he lost the electrical response from the
junction down indeed he had the atrial response with no ventricular response.
Very rare. The cardiology department at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia
agrees with the concept that atrial repolarization carries to little current to
show up on the tracing.

I am an EMT and have been wondering about atrial repolarization. many people say that atrial repolarization is buried in the QRS complex, but my question is...

Ventricular standstill is used synonymously with asystole or cardiac standstill. However, you may at times still have a p wave or an escape beat in the form...

Yeah, but I see his question....if you have a P wave that's atrial polarization, so absent the qrs, you should see an atrial repolarization wave after a single...

Good question! ventricular standstill can occur when there is just P waves and no QRS complexes to follow them. I have never though of where the atrial...

You're right. I misunderstood the question. I also agree with you about the voltage being too low. Thanks for the heads up. ... ...

By ventricular standstill, do you mean asystole? In asystole there is no electrical OR mechanical activity anywhere in the heart. ctoelken@... wrote:I...

I believe he means true ventricular standstill when there is no conduction whatsoever to the ventricle by the atria are still depolarizing--so you get atrial...
