OK --- I am interested now because where I work-- california-- the nurse
practioner doesn't make much more an hour then a RN and a CRNA starts
at$150,000.00 a year.. SO what kind or nurse practitioner are you -- and how
do you have your own clinic? I am new to the practice of nursing and know
that i will be getting a masters-- I had thought of nurse practitioner-- but
when i heard from some who said they get paid more working as a regular
RN-- I thought of going to a clinical nurse specialist masters program. SO
naturally your comment "Most nurse anesthetists wouldn't mind
commanding my prestige or my bank account..." stirred my interest.

in the ICU
My suggestion would be...Of all of the places I have worked in 20 years most
have that element of people who go into nursing with the lure of big money
in the Anesthesia track. That suggestion being consider Nurse
Practitioner..Who knows..you might actually gain autonomy and not have to
spend the rest of your life sucking up like a leach to a bunch of cold,
unthankful undignified prudes...But this may require the innate ability to
make independent decisions affecting anothers life and who knows, you might
actually get your own clinic like me. Most nurse anesthetists wouldn't mind
commanding my prestige or my bank account....Good luck in what ever you
choose...Jededia RNP-S (and a slew of letters behind my name I can't
remember)
