Re: Help! I am interested in getting some feedback from people in the ICU

I can only address 2 of those....As for the schooling...I believe that there is
nothing out there (short of Pharmacist school) that is harder than Nursing
school - may be some that are as hard but none harder.....as for the ICU, I have
to admit that things can get a little nerve-racking, but its always the basics.
Besides, if you can handle the ER, I have no doubt you can handle the ICU - both
are emergent care every now and again...but most of the time, its routine
nursing care. On a side note, I think there are programs that pay a monthly
stipend while schooling for CRNA......army, USDOH, etc.......

silly, I have been
held back by:
-whether I would get bored
-if surgery is too cold for me (yes, I am freezing all the time)
-2 years of school without work
-school location
-competiveness to enroll
-if I could make it through school
-requires ICU experience (I'm ER and actually a little scared of ICU - ya
really)

I would suggest you "shadow" a CRNA to see if it something you would really like to do. Chris [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]...
