We are doing this as well. The model we are looking at is RN plus respiratory
tech. It's been tried in Vancouver, BC, versus the resident, RN, RT model.
Vancouver is having some success with the RN/RT model. So we'll see what
happens. I know here we will have to hire someone into the positions without a
patient assignment as the team could be away from the bedside a considerable
amount of time. It certainly is the buzz in critical care now. It will be
interesting to watch these teams develope. C.

Subject: Rapid Response Team
Hi everyone,
I am looking for any information on developing a rapid response team
(also known as early intervention team). We are researching
different
models that have been implemented and are looking for feedback
regarding success of the programs and what healthcare professionals
are included on the team.
Thanks, Joy Speciale
