Barack Obama Pulls a Plaxico Burress

The Players

***************************

Plaxico Burress caught the winning touchdown pass for
the New York Giants in last year's Super Bowl football
game. This year, Plaxico shot himself in the leg with
an illegal handgun in a New York City nightclub. He'll
soon be receiving Michael Vick passes, in perhaps more
ways than one.

Barack Obama is an Illinois Senator who ran on a platform
of hope, change, and idealism. He will soon be inaugurated
as America's 44th President.

Michael Taylor, Esq. is a Washington D.C. attorney who
once represented Monsanto. In that regard, he replaced
Clarence Thomas. Taylor also used his powerful connections
to be named as an FDA and USDA undersecretary, where he
wrote the guidelines for the "future" approval of genetically
engineered organisms, thereby serving his true master,
Monsanto. Michael Taylor is Tipper Gore's first cousin.

THE NOTMILKMAN'S CONCLUSION (followed by facts)

If Barack Obama names Michael Taylor to a powerful
regulatory office such as USDA director or FDA director,
then we've blown it. I have no delusions that the United
States could have been named the United States of
Monsantoland during the Bush administration. Key positions
were filled by ex-Monsanto power brokers.

Are things about to change in Washington, D.C. or remain
the same. The answer will be told if Michael Taylor gets
the nod as new USDA or FDA director.

***************************
BACKGROUND

Taylor performed a key role by paving the way for the
approval of Monsanto's genetically engineered organisms
for our food supply. Taylor's interpretation of Congressional
cancer laws alleviated the responsibility of companies like
Monsanto future drug studies and applications.

While working as an attorney for King & Spalding, Taylor
wrote a legal opinion which was published in the Journal
of the American College of Toxicology.

Michael Taylor followed another lawyer from his firm into
serving his nation. That other Monsanto attorney? Clarence
Thomas, now a Supreme Court Justice.

Taylor gave clue to his future performance by inserting a
quote on the title page of his Delaney Amendment article:

"One of the most delicate tasks a court faces is the application
of the legislative mandate of a prior generation to novel
circumstances created by a culture grown more complex."

Judge Irving R. Kaufman

Many have made similar arguments as they apply to the
Constitution of the United States. The founding fathers never
imagined that we would genetically engineer milk. The Supreme
Court has intermittently dealt with similar premises over
the years and had repeatedly struck down such arguments.

Taylor attempted to supersede this important act of Congress
by writing "The De Minimus Interpretation of the Delaney
Clause: Legal and Policy Rationale." Taylor's move to FDA
was a Monsanto setup. He was moved there to determine rbST
policy.

The Delaney Clause

People are terrified of cancer. Five decades ago
Americans lived in fear of two major cataclysms. One was
nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Another was receiving a
diagnosis of cancer, which was most often an incurable and
painful death sentence. In the late 1950s, one of the
goals of Congress was to enact a Food Additives Act. People
were becoming more aware of the factors that were known
to induce cancer.

Although only a few substances were actually identifiable
as carcinogenic, scientists were developing new techniques
including analytical methods which were implicating chemicals
in our food supply to be carcinogens.

As a result of much debate, Congress passed the Food
Additive Amendment to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act
in 1958. The goal of this amendment was to insure that the
health of Americans would be safeguarded from the consumption
of any food product containing a chemical additive.

The Delaney Clause was actually a safety standard which
stated that no food additive would be deemed safe if it was
found to induce cancer when eaten by people or laboratory
animals. Taylor's interpretation of this clause would set
new policy at FDA.

Despite the evidence of overwhelmning effects on cows.
FDA reviewers "looked the other way" when approving
that drug which now taints America's food supply.

There is much more to this story, found in chapter 6 of
my book, Milk-The Deadly Poison.

Bottom line:

Barack Obama is about to shoot himself in the foot by
appointing Taylor. There is not a thing we can do.
