Northern Nevada Friends (NNF) is a social group for people with herpes who live in the greater Reno/Tahoe area. We welcome everyone over 18 who is interested in making new friends, sharing interesting activities together, and meeting others who share our unique situation. NNF is not a dating service or personal introduction service. Instead, we plan social events and activities to allow our members to meet one another in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere. It's really mostly just about making new friends and having fun together. Most of our events take place at public locations, so even new people will feel comfortable; we strive to achieve a gender balance so everyone might have a chance to make new friends.
There are no NO DUES AND NO MEMBERSHIP FEES - just lots of fun activities for you to enjoy, all organized by other members like you. Because there are no officers, no dues and no budget, we rely on our individual members to plan and organize events that others might be interested in. If you want to plan your own event, please be our guest! We will also be organizing monthly informational meetings with guest speakers. Information for these meetings will be distributed via this group. All are welcome.
Since herpes does not discriminate and neither do we, we are a very diverse group of people. We're especially welcoming to folks new to this situation and to the group. We’ll make sure to introduce you to other friendly people and make you feel at home. If you’d like to talk to someone or ask questions before you attend your first event, just contact one of the group moderators or the event organizer and someone will be in touch with you. Our webpage, www.northernnevadafriends.org is currently under construction. Keep checking for updates including an events calendar and lots of helpful links. The moderators of this group reserve the right to review and approve all messages before they are posted to ensure no SPAM or inappropriate material is posted.
