Hi Maria,
My son Connor who has NS has always been small and has always had an
eating problem. He is 13yrs old but is the size of a 10yr old.He is
very thin and now he takes an anabolic steroid to try build his
muscle mass.Connor also takes scandihakes which are milkshakes
loaded with calories and he also takes calagen. We just went for his
school uniform last week and my heart went out to him as he had to
settle on a size 9-10 trousers with elastic at the back.He was so
upset that he threw a wobbly in the store. The height doesn't bother
him, it's because he is very thin that bothers him more.Just as long
as you are getting your son monitored then things will be ok. I
always thought that Connor would have growth hormone but when he
went to the consultant she said that he had already started
puberty.I always tell Connor that best things come in small
packages. Connor has a care page at
www.caringbridge.org/visit/connorrobinson Please take a look.
