first of all, please don't ever doubt your good intentions for your little boy!  Sounds like you just want him to have a break from so much intervention...it gets exhausting for the whole family having to see your little one go through so much.  I would suggest trying to get in touch with as many parents as possible who have gone through this procedure with their sons and ask them the age their child was, the recovery time, any possible complications, etc.  Sometimes I think procedures are pushed when they are younger because they could heal from some things sooner if done early enough.  Also, I would really try to remember that what the future will/will not hold for our children is too far off for us to predict.  The world of medicine is moving at such a fast pace that Dalton may have possibilities we can't even imagine today.  I am starting a college fund for my little boy...I say we set the bar as high as we can reach...life always seems to amaze me.  Best of luck with this decision. -Madeline
