Re: Independence and a new twist

Hi Maria,

Sorry about the delay in replying. I've not long been back from
holiday.

My son is like yours and very independant. We have a bag full of all
sorts of toys to let him play with while we quickly give him another
spoon full. My answer would be get a massive splash mat and let him
make as much mess and leave him to it. We try coaxing Bailey but now
each bowl has 2 spoons and 2 forks. Food time needs to be fun and
not a battle. I must say my husband itsn't very good with mess and
it normally falls to me to clean Bailey up but he sat at the table at
my mother in laws yesterday with his fork feeding himself and I felt
proud. By the way Bailey is 18mths, but this started when he was
probably about 10mths.

Hope this helps
Lorraine

How do you keep the dips from ending up everywhere? I was thinking a bowl with a suction cup bottom would be good (my 14 and 11 year old daughters had one) but...
