I am sorry to hear that Miranda is having such trouble with her eyes.
I have been thinking a lot about the Bartons, and wonder how their trip
to the NIH went. We leave for the NIH on Sunday, the 6th, and we are
excited, since Seth has lately been suffering more symptoms, and knee
pain. He is also constantly complaining that he is tired, and gets a
pillow, blanket, and a teddy bear to curl up with on the couch, or
anywhere, at any time in the day. He stil takes naps, but this is not
his usual behavior, and he is not ill.

I corresponded with Hervé in French, and referred him to the
translating device "babelfish" at altavista. He wrote me back this
morning, so we are communicating. He has not heard or met with Dr.
Prieur, so I plan to share her info with him. He has had trouble with
his hearing, and was diagnosed at 7 years of age, which is impressive,
since he is 38, so that must have been around the time when they first
diagnosed the syndrome. He told me about his experiences with this
syndrome, and was very motivating. If anyone would like to correspond
with him, try using "babelfish". I speak and wirtie and understand
French, but not to the degree that I feel confident to rely completely
on my abilities, so this has helped me. Perhaps we could get him to
write a story for the NOMID site?
