Dear sir or madam,
Magic Bob and Joyce Quilietti’s Sponsored Trek (Great
Wall of China – (May 2007)
As an organisation that has used the services of Magic
Bob in the past, I write asking for your help.
You may be aware (by way of frequent articles in the
press and detailed television coverage) of how close
medical researchers are towards finding effective
treatment for Parkinson’s disease.
As always, financial support is vital in these final
stages of research and testing. It would be wonderful
to think that we could eventually defeat this chronic,
degenerative disease that affects a staggering 1
person in 400.
As part of an ongoing appeal, the Parkinson’s Disease
Society are organising a sponsored challenge involving
an arduous 50-mile trek along a remote stretch of the
Great Wall of China.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, 3 years ago and the
impact on my life was dramatic. I was forced to retire
from my career as professional magician (“Magic Bob”)
after a very successful 25 years as Scotland’s
favourite children’s entertainer. In consequence my
wife, Joyce, and I are now part of the China trek
challenge.
We need to raise a combined sponsorship/fund-raising
total of £6200 to make the above trip viable. To this
end we are planning a group of fundraising events as
well a straightforward request for cash donations.
We would be delighted if your organisation could help
us reach our target by contributing to our funds.
We will of course credit you as major sponsors on all
tickets/advertising and would assure you that all
money raised will go toward research into Parkinson’s
disease therapies. If you would like to make a cash
donation visit: www.justgiving.com/magicbob.
Alternatively, you could send a cheque (payable to
“Parkinson’s Disease Society Sales”) to myself at the
above address.
We thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Bob and Joyce Quilietti
