Hi Lou:

There is a meeting of the Birmingham Parkinson's Support Group this Sunday at
2 PM. If you are interested, please call me at 256-776-2517 and I will give you

Carol, we live in Vandiver, and, as another member of this group has
suggested, I checked the phone book, called a P.D. info center at the
med school in Birmingham, and found the local support group. The nice
lady at the info center put us on the mailing list. Our neurologist
trained at UAB, I think, and is very familiar with the chairman of
neurology's special interest in the disease.

Also, as has been suggested,. I called my wife's neurologist and at my
request he was happy to prescribe physical therapy for her and to fill
out the proper form for handicapped parking. (I asked for the latter
because on "off" days, she cannot move fast at all. We are concerned
about her inability to dodge traffic on such days, especially if I must
stay in the car.)
Sincerely,
Lou
