Hi everyone.

Thank You all for your prayers and heartfelt thoughts.

I am back online but only for brief times due to the continued power
outages here. The power company is working on trying to get the
entire area here up and running again.

My daughter her husband, their two babies and I returned to
Mississippi on the night of the 6th of this month. We were able to
check their rental trailer out in Pascagoula just before dark.
Their trailer was flooded out (live in a flood zone) and a pine tree
hit the corner of trailer causing damage. They have no power there
to this day. We had to spend the night at my daughters dads house
since it was curfew that night. The next morning her husband went
back to work and the rest of us went to check out my trailer and
property. The only way I can describe it is that it looks like a war
zone. I lost almost all trees here except the wooded area that
sustained a lot of down trees as well. One of the trees hit the end
of my trailer taking out the skirting and is laying next to my power
pole. I lost my barn, tack room, and out door dog pen. Some of the
tin on my roof of the trailer is curled up like a gutter. I had a
little water damage inside the trailer as well. My carport that was
converted to a shed sustained damage. The force of the winds curled
the metal hasps that held the doors. My neighbors son stopped by and
re hung the doors, but the doors are warped from the high winds and
I am not able to get the bolt lock totally closed. One area of my
trailer the floor is sagging some and this was due to the high
winds. It can buckle floors and case damage that way too. I also
lost all of my food since I couldnt take it all with me when we
evaccuated.

At this time my daughter and her family are living with me and we
are all cramped in this 12 wide trailer. she sleeps in the single
bed with one of the babies and he sleeps on the living room floor
with the other baby. They cant afford to get another rental trailer
since my daughter lost her job a few days before the hurricane hit
due to winn dixie going out of business in pascagoula. Her husband
makes minimum wage when they dont have cars to work on at the
dealership and when he does have a customers car to work on he makes
a little more an hour but not that much.

I had to use my credit card and spent over 500 dollars (mostly in
gas for my van and my son in laws car) to get to flee to alabama,
buy diapers and food and water for the return tip to Mississippi
after the hurricane.

I have been able to get MRE's (meals ready to eat) from the army to
keep us fed here. They also are giving us bottled water and ice.

I will be busy watching my two grand babies while my daughter and
her husband return to their trailer tomorrow to try to salvage the
rest of their belongings and bring them back up here.

I am in need of a chain saw to be able to get all of these trees cut
up, not to mention the manpower to do it and move the huge pieces to
a pile for future burning.

I also will have to find out how much it will cost me to hire a
professional tree cutter to come and finish taking down the tree
right behind my trailer since there are several large limbs that
have been snapped by the hurricane and they are very high up in this
tree laying on the branches that have not broken yet. If we get
another wind storm I am afraid the limbs will finish snapping and
hit the roof of my trailer.

On the transmission of my van, my son in law did check the fluid
level and it was fine. I will need to come up with the money to get
new fluid and a filter to have it totally changed out and we hope it
will solve the problem. also I have to get new plug wires, plugs,
and air filter for the van since he has seen that the plug wires are
in desperate need of changing. This should give me back the power I
need while driving the van. I allready had the oil changed last
month.

I have applied for FEMA and hope they will be able to help out
some...I did hear on the radio that FEMA is only alloting 2,600
dollars for repairs but I have sustained more than 2,600 dollars in
damage and am in need of another trailer.

Well that is all of the information I have at this time. I still
have a lot of work to do here and it will be a long and slow
process. Still have to unpack everything since I was in bed all day
and night yesterday due to being sick and am in a lot of pain with
my neck as I think I might have messed up the titanium plate that
was surgically put in back in March of this year. I had no choice
but to lift heavy things with my daughter to get them in the trailer
here when we returned since there was no one else around to help
out. Couldnt wait until her husband came home at night as the food
and things would have been ruined in that van in the heat.

Thank You All again for your support and prayers. If anyone would
like to make a donation to me and my daughter and her family, we
would really appreciate anything you can send.

Take Care

Debbie
