Hello Stem Cell Research Supporters

I would like to personally invite each of you to attend the Genetic
Policy Institute's (GPI) next big event. I have already made my
plane and hotel reservations. We would like to have as many of you
attend as possible to our support of stem cell research. I just
recevied this invitation from Bernie Siegel of GPI:

"The GPI is staging the "Stem Cell Policy and Advocacy Summit:
Sustaining the Mandate for Cures" which will be held at the Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, Texas on June 11-12. There will be a
pre-conference reception the evening of June 10. The event is co-
chaired by Dr. Bill Brinkley, Dean of the Graduate School of BMC.
The conference is strongly endorsed and sponsored by the Coalition
for Advancement of Medical Research CAMR)
http://www.camradvocacy.org/fastaction/.

Registration details for the conference can be found at our web site
at www.genpol.org.

Our purpose is to provide a gathering of policy-makers, advocacy
leaders, political strategy and legal experts to interact and
discuss critical issues pertaining to stem cell policy, in order to
develop strategies to sustain the mandate for cures in the post-
Proposition 71 world.

We have invited prominent speakers in the fields of politics,
science, law, business, ethics and public policy. Already committed
as speakers are some the leading scientists in the field of NT
including Woo Suk Hwang from Korea, Gerald Schatten and Jose
Cibelli. From ethics and law we have R. Alta Charo from the
University of Wisconsin School of Law, John Robertson from the
University of Texas School of Law, Louis Guenin from Harvard Medical
School and Laurie Zoloth, the bioethicist from Northwestern. From
the advocacy world we have Amy Comstock of the Parkinson's Action
Network and Dan Perry of the Coalition for Advancement of Medical
Research. We will also have a good panel from the Prop 71 moderated
by Shane Smith who is now a science consultant to GPI. A copy of our
draft program is attached.

The target audiences for the Summit are leaders in the stem cell
advocacy community and from such organizations as the Parkinson's
Action Network, Hadassah, JDRF, scientific societies, philanthropic
foundations, venture capitalists and from the various state
organizations seeking to protect and fund this research.

The topics that will be covered include federal and state policies,
economics, law, ethics and scientific updates. This conference is
unique, timely and important.

We have made arrangements for the conference accommodations to be at
the Houston Marriott Medical Center, within short walking distance
(or shuttle ride) to the Baylor College of Medicine, where the
sessions will be held.

So if you can get down to Houston I guarantee a meaningful event
with some stellar networking.

You can call me if you have any questions.
