STEM CELL INFORMATION WEB SITE   Message List

My name is Steve Meyer, and I started a Yahoo Group last December to
provide the latest information on stem cell research worldwide and
stem cell legislation in the United States and the UN. I am doing
this on behalf of SCAN (Stem Cell Action Network,
www.stemcellaction.org). We believe that education and advocacy are
essential to move the research forward.

The site can be found at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/StemCellInformation/

We are contacting other Yahoo sites whose members may have interest
in learning about the research. I feel that if people are informed,
they will support the healing potential of stem cell research.
Please post a message informing your members about our efforts and
to consider:

1- Joining the Yahoo Stem Cell Information Site
2- Visiting the SCAN website
3- Submitting a "Reality Portrait", our project to communicate an
accurate picture of the daily challenge of living with disease and
disability, to the legislators who will be making funding decisions.

Thank you for your help,

Steve Meyer
Chairman of the Board
Stem Cell Action Network
www.stemcellaction.org

P.S. I have sent more than 1700 articles since December and I post
probably 60 articles per week. So if you don't want a lot of emails,
just sign up for the daily digest.

"I appreciate what you are doing to make the many articles available
for me to read. There is no way on earth that I could be exposed to
all this information if it were not for you."

Marion said:
This is the best source of information on this--even-handed, too--
that I know of on the web! GOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Stephen! Please keep it
up, or if you cannot, please find someone who can; this is
absolutely invaluable. I am a retired physician, amongst other
things, and I actually converted a retired neurosurgeon friend to
sign up, too! I love reading it all and I read EVERYTHING!

Dshale said:
"I read the ones (articles) that pertain to my own personal interest
in stem cell research, new therapies, new study findings, and
anything relating to stem cell research initiatives in the U.S. and
my own state. Thanks for setting up this group; it is invaluable and
reading it has helped me correct the misconceptions about stem cell
research held by friends and family."

Arthur said:
"A resounding YES to the question as to information I need to hear
and learn, and also it has given me ideas as to what is in store for
me. I appreciate your hard work in rounding up these stories, for
each one has some information pertinent to the onward battle for
delivery of stem cells."

Joyce said:
"I am grateful for the info. It gives me hope because I know that
progress is being made. I have a lot of diseases that I want fixed
so that is why I am following it closely. Other groups want big
bucks for the info. I learned about Biomark from your posts.
Thank you so much for what you are doing!"

Dee said:
"I find your web site extremely helpful in keeping up with current
developments in stem cell research and the political climate
surrounding it. Without your messages I would either be spending
hours doing the research on my own or become discouraged and give up
in attempting to stay abreast the latest news. Thank you so much for
your help in keeping us knowledgeable about this most important
issue."

Shelly said:
"Thank you for your site! This Digest gives me a global feel for
stem cell research progress. I appreciate the way you include
articles from both sides. I fell better informed and am more
clearly able to discuss current stem cell issues. I do read most of
the articles, unless I am out of town. Thank you so much."

Dennis a Rabbi said:
"I have found the Stem Cell Information digest to be very useful.
While, as I mentioned when we spoke some time ago, my focus is on
faith and stem cells, you send much material that helps keep me
updated. Thanks so much."

Sharon said,
"I want to thank you with all of my heart for the insight you have
provided me thru your emails. I feel I am being educated in an area
that may bring hope of a cure someday to our daughter and millions
of other's. Your dedication to this cause has provided not only our
family with tools for discussion, hope for research, knowledge of
studies, but a great link of being out of the loop of isolation.
Thank you, keep up the great work."

Brian said:
"I think you are doing an excellent job of presenting a balanced
forum for information on "stem cell happenings".
As the parent of a type 1 diabetic child I look forward to your
articles each and every day. Every time I interact with someone in
this debate I reference your site as a place where they should go to
get "the complete story".
Thanks for your hard work..."

Richard said:
"I think the material is of real benefit to our efforts. I always
scan the topics and then read those articles that are of relevance
and otherwise new to me. This is far and away the most
comprehensive listing of stem cell news that I am aware of."

Mary said:
"As a member of the California Parkinson's Caucus, which worked on
passing Prop 71 Stem Cells for Cures, I appreciate your service
enormously. For a while it felt like we were pretty much alone out
here: "those fruits and nuts in California." Your posts reassure
us that "prop 71's are sprouting up all over the country. It's very
encouraging and exciting.

I can imagine how much time and effort you're giving to this, and I
appreciate it very much. I assume you're willing to expand your
readership so I will put a notice in my e-mail bulletin which goes
out to the Parkinson's community in Los Angeles, unless you'd prefer
that I don't. Many thanks."
