2006 LVBN Jamfest
The LVBN will host a special event at the Springtown Rod & Gun Club on Sunday June 4th 2006 starting at 2 pm. Here is your chance to spend a fun day outdoors with some great blues. Each year the LVBN sponsors a blues act from the region for entry into the International Blues Competition in Memphis (www.blues.org). This year the event will be held at the Springtown Rod & Gun Club on Sunday, June 4th. The bands competing represent two great women of the blues, Octavia & the Earthblood Blues Band (www.octaviablues.com) and The Mary Hawkins Band (www.maryhawkins.com). Each entry into the competition will perform one set before a panel of judges and Jamfest attendees with the winner representing the LVBN at the IBC in Memphis.
The LVBN will also host its weekly jam at the LVBN Jamfest. Starting off will be a kid's jam from 2pm to 3pm followed by the IBC Competition and ending the evening with the regular LVBN jam. All are invited and we hope to have some special guests come out and play. So bring you instruments and join in the fun. Make it a great day of blues music, food and friends.
The Springtown Rod & Gun Club has a large meetinghouse and a great outdoor pavilion to host the event so we are covered rain or shine. There is plenty of parking on site and lots of picnic tables at the pavilion. You can bring your lounge chairs and Frisbees to have some fun in the sun. A nominal $5.00 donation will be collected to help defray the cost of sponsoring the IBC winners Memphis adventure. Food and beverages will also be available at the event.
The Springtown Rod & Gun Club is located right off of Main Street in beautiful downtown Springtown, Pa. Take Rt 78 to the Bethlehem / Hellertown exit. That is Rt 412...at the light at the end of the ramp turn left & go south through Hellertown and continue past Leithsville a few miles until you come to a stop sign at a "T".
