~~~~ Special summer announcements ~~~~
Hey there Friends of DRUMS from HEAVEN,
Summers coming soon, the time is right for dancin in the street.
This summer also is the 40th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Music & Art Fair.
With that celebration in mind, I'm putting together 4 outdoor drum circles. The first 3 are free to attend.
Some people have been suggesting I should have a D.F.H. fundraiser to help me build up start-up money for each event I run for charity. I do lay out over $500 from my pocket to produce each D.F.H drum circle. It would be nice to have capital in advance of each event.
Each time around these drum and dance circles have become bigger and better. I'd like to keep the vibe fresh, so I hope you can try to help me raise a little hey this summer. :0)
~~~The Events~~~
I am already planning our 4th anniversary of DRUMS from HEAVEN. We will have another Halloween Costume Ball on Oct 31'st. You don't wanna miss this festive night.
I've decided to have a "free will" donation basket at each of these summer drum circles to hopefully raise fundraising capital for the start-up costs of future DRUMS from HEAVEN events. I would also like to raffle off a TOCA DJEMBE.
So here's the plan: Beginning June 2 and running thru Sept 5 I will make tickets available at $5. each for a chance to win the Djembe with bag, worth approx. $200.
See me at any of the drum circles to donate, take a chance, and to help keep it growing.
On June 2 I will host a D.F.H. Circle from 6PM to 8PM in a Park in Englewood across
the street from the Bergen Pac near 30 N. Van Brunt St.. This was well received last summer.The park is located between 66 N.Van Brunt and 63 N. Dean St. Englewood, NJ.
The drum circle will be held just prior to the BLUES TRAVELER show. If you like their up-tempo music, they can be seen at Bergen Pac for as little as $25. after the drum circle.
July (TBA) working on participating at a festival.
On Aug 19 we will head to the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ for our 3rd year of playing on the grass between the parking lots. We will have our drum circle just before the Allman Brothers and Doobie Brothers Show at PNC. This draws a good crowd. Time T.B.A
On Sept 5 we will make our 2'nd appearance at The American Legion in Maywood at their end of summer BBQ. Last year we picked up some new drummers and had a jamm at the end of the day with a rock band which was very cool. This is a picnic which has a $20 entry fee and you can eat and drink all you want all day. We will also do the drawing for the drum at this venue. The winner does not have to be present on Sept 5. Please leave your name and phone # on your ticket.
So please consider coming out to drum, to dance, to have some fun and hopefully help D.F.H raise some money for charitable causes.
Remember this: ~~~ By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong,
everywhere was a song and a celebration.....~~~
