The Corning Community College event went superb, (with their largest turnout this year for any of their lunch hour music offerings!! Cool!) (...and they want us back again next year!)
Also, great drumming at both other weekend events, (at the school and at White Hawk Village.) Thanks to all that attended! The weather should begin to allow us to be in Stewart Park (for the most part), from here on out, so let's plan on meeting there starting our drumming around 3P..M. for the month of May, (due to shorter daylight hours) and then at 4P.M. for the rest of the warm season.

Thursday, May 28th, Ithaca Festival Parade. 6:30P.M. Cayuga Street, Ithaca NY.
This is a GREAT TIME, so try to attend! Thousands of people line the parade route, and hundreds are in the parade itself! Starting from the corner of Lewis and Cayuga Streets, and ending at the DeWitt Mall. Be there NTL 6P.M. I'll be extra drums, as needed. We are usually near the front of the parade, and usually drum at the end of the parade, along with the belly dance troupe!

Unless you have a parking pass, you will need to park at Boyton Middle School or IHS parking areas.

The Parade will start at 9:30 am. We were requested to arrive at least 30 minutes prior. A vehicle will be provided, so that we can RIDE while we drum. Meet us there, or carpool from LACS at 8:30A.M., arriving around 9 A.M.
Friday, June 19th, Time: TBA. Watkins Glen Waterfront Festival, Lake front park. Open community drum circle. We've been invited to lead an open drum circle for this event. Friday, June 26th SummerFest Lyons NY. I'll be leading a drum circle at the festival. Details to be arranged, members encouraged to attend. Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th, Preparation for the "Spirit-Rhythm Drum and Dance Quest", at Newhart's Lodge, Griffin Rd, Newfield. We will need to prepare the site for the event the following weekend. Thursday, July 16th, through Sunday, July 19th, "19th Annual Grassroots Festival", Trumansburg, NY. Tickets are: $75 thru May 1st, $95 thru July 10th, and or $110 at the gate.
Day Passes at the Gate are: Thur (or) Fri: $40, Sat $45, & Sun $30. ($2 less, if in advance.)

Steve's Note: I plan on going to Grassroots Saturday, July 18th, (all day), and doing an open drum circle on the small knoll (across from the concession stands), around 4P.M. I also plan on participating in the "Happiness Parade" (which should be after mid-day. (1P.M.?)

Saturday, August 15th, 5P.M. til ? Twelve Anniversary celebration for Matt and Camilla Johnson, Beech Hill Pond Community, Newfield, NY. Potluck, followed by an open community drum circle, around a community fire, live music with the 'Native Earthling Band'. Hilltop site, with a 3 acre pond. Excellent event!
Steve's Note: This will be in lieu of our regular Saturday drum circle at Stewart Park. Directions: Take Rte 13 South, to junction Rte 34/96 South, bearing left onto 34/96. Go 4.5 miles to VanBusKirk Gulf Rd, turning right onto it. Go 1/4 mile to Tupper Rd, turning left onto Tupper Rd. Go approx 3 miles to the top of Tupper Hill, turning left onto Seeley Hill Rd. Go 1/3 mile to Beech Hill Rd, turning left onto it. Go approx 1 mile, passing Beech Rd on the left, approx 100 yeards past Beech Rd, is a 90 degree right hand curve in the road. At the beginning of this curve, a drive way goes off to the left-front, into Beech Hill Pond Community. Park either along the road, (not in the curve), or off the driveway into the community. A path to the left of the entrance of the driveway, leads to the pond and the picnic and drumming area, about 200 feet up the path.

Saturday, Aug 22nd and Sunday Aug 23rd, (Times TBA.) Set-up of the drumming dome at MuseFest. Steve's Note: "One-Heart Community Drum" will be facilitating all night drum circles, Friday and Saturday nights, starting at dusk. We will need volunteer's to: collect and cut firewood, cut grass in the dome area, prepare the fire pit, shore-up the drumming dome, decorate it, prepare food, etc. If you want to volunteer, contact myself, or James/Tor. Volunteers put in 4 hours work, in exchange for each day's pass. We will need to turn in a list of those that have worked, in order for you to get your pass.
