DRUMS from HEAVEN was Exceptional!   Message List

Our DRUMS from HEAVEN on Sunday Dec. 2 was an overwhelming success. Despite a snowy start to the day an estimated 70-75 beautiful people came out to support The Adams family at our drum circle.
The V.F.W. Hall was a very cozy room, with a great dance floor surrounded by an awesome display of drums and drummers. The chandelier lighting which could be dimmed, the disco ball, and the stage lighting all added an exceptional hue to the room. The stage was just right for our usage.
After settling in with some free style rhythms we were all treated to an alluring Spirit dance By Tonche' The Spirit Dancer. She blessed us all and sent a calming effect within us. This was a wonderful heartfelt dance which made us feel good about coming together and creating a special atmosphere.Thank you Dee!
Evans and Mario provided the beautiful sound of flutes as we slowly ushered in light percussion. The sounds of chimes and metalaphone added a nice effect. You guys were awesome! Thanks dudes!
We enjoyed a nice casual mix of free form drumming and Maggie and Dee got the dancing started. If one needed refreshments, a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, finger sandwiches, fine desserts and drinks were all donated by Inserra Supermarkets and Shop-Rite. Thank you for your generosity!
A great performance of African rhythms was presented on stage by Ubuntu. They were as "tight as a drum"! Sounding very, very good, they enticed many more dancers to the floor. We all enjoyed their spectacular show. Thanks to Mark, Krista, Eric, Ed and Lisa. You all rocked!
More drumming jam time followed. I specifically got off on playing Spirithawks steel drum. That is one beautiful sounding instrument which will be on my Christmas list! We all traded some dynamite rhythms...
A sensational performance by Sigi the belly dancer put an aura over everyone. Sigi has some very  sensual moves in her dance. That was soooo cool when she balanced a sword on her head while dancing. Her music selection was just perfect for her dance. Sigi, I believe you captivated the audience! Thank you!
It was a pleasure to see Sigi and Tonche' dancing together on the dance floor. I'm sure you both inspired many more people to come out and dance to the drum beats. I know I was dancin up a storm....Thanks to all the wonderful dancers!
We all had fun doing a sing-a-long of Happy Christmas (War is over) by John &Yoko. Thanks to all who joined me on stage. It was cool seeing different people go to the mike during the day and just do their thing, kind of backing up the drum rhythms.
We had some great prizes which were raffled off making some people very happy. The happiest moment had to be when Commander Walter Geer of the Saddle Brook V.F.W. presented  Joanna Adams with a donation check for $4000. That made her and her family very happy!!
We closed out our DRUMS from HEAVEN  circle with a mix of drums and saxophones. It looks like the Bo Diddley beat is taking on a life of it's own as we wind these drum circles down. This time we used  "Who Do You Love" as our final jam. On stage we had Rich and Lew on sax's, Mark on Djun, Dave. M. and myself on djembe's and little Katie on Morocca's. As we got it going one last time, everyone joined in for another half hour of high energy drumming.
As I thanked the crowd for making this day a special one to remember, my daughter Tracey came up to the mike and made me soooo proud. She told everyone what a good time she had at the drum circle, thanked us all for coming and made it known how much she loved her mommy and daddy. Thanks Trace!
Let me finish by saying this was our fifth and best DRUMS from HEAVEN . The flow of drumming, dancing and performing together created an awesome vibe. I was glad to have so many of you people experience all the wonderful flavors exhibited. I want to thank you all for coming out on a snowy day, especially all those who traveled long distance!   YOU --- make DRUMS from HEAVEN what it is...
If you were there, please spread the word about what we do, to your friends in the drum and dance community. We always strive to grow together. If you missed this one, we shall return some time in April around Earth Day.
Lastly, we raised $1200. from the door, raffles and food & drink. Another $500. in Gift Certs. was donated by our local Kiwanis club, and of course the $4000. from the V.F.W..
I'd say The Adams family benefit was a smashing success!!!
Once again, thanks for sharing your time, talent and treasure. I love you all!
