Reply | Forward Message #320 of 553 |
Dear friends, family, fellow drummers and dancers,
I am embarking on what is hoped to be a major fundraiser. It is my hope many of you will support this important cause to help a Saddle Brook family in need. I am asking you to kindly spread the word about this event to all your friends and member lists. The event will run at least 4 hours so our out of state friends will have a worthwhile road trip
if you choose to make it.
Tommy “Purple” Haze will present a DRUMS from HEAVEN  benefit on Dec.2’nd at The Saddle Brook V.F.W. Post 3484   at 44 Market St. in Saddle Brook.
The event will run from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.,   A minimum $15. Donation is requested.
There is an open door come and go as you please policy.
Funds are being raised for the late Daniel Adams family. He left behind a wife Joanna and four children between the ages of two and eight years old, the eldest child is disabled with cerebral palsy. This family has no insurance or income other than government subsidies and peoples donations. Please come and support this worthy cause and help to at least temporarily ease some of the financial burdens upon this family.
If you can’t attend and wish to donate please send your donation to:
The Adams Family Fund c/o The Children’s Therapy Center , 29 Berkshire Rd., Fair Lawn, N.J. 07410
The day of percussion will feature a very entertaining interactive drum circle  welcoming anyone to join in. No drumming experience is needed. You will enjoy a relaxing and energizing time by participating in the drum and dance circle or watching and listening to the variety of world drum rhythms. Belly dancers and African style or any kind of dancers are welcome. If you have percussion instruments please bring them. If not there will be a sharing area. If you are new and need some basic instruction  to get started there will be a host of drum facilitators on hand to assist you.
We begin at 3:00 with the sound of flutes slowly ushering in light drum and percussion sounds. We jam for the first hour. At 4:00  there will be a performance by an African style drum troop called Ubuntu. This will be  followed by another open jam till around 5:00, when we will feature some Middle Eastern sounds and a performance by Sigi the belly dancer with guests. Between 6:00 and 6:30 we break for raffles and prizes.
Free light refreshments will be available with the purchase of a beverage throughout the day. More special guests may be added.  A special jam will cap off the event.
Please come experience this unique drum circle!
