May Day in Seattle this year will include several demonstrations against
our occupation of Iraq, and the results of our hostilities there. One of
these includes a one-day strike by the longshoremen's union which the
public is invited to support. See below.

Below are details on the anti-war solidarity march on Thursday with
the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) along
Seattle's waterfront.
Meet at noon at JACK PERRY PARK, 1729 Alaskan Way South (across from
the stadiums at the waterfront), march to Pier 66, probably time to
grab fish and chips along the way.

ALL ports served by the ILWU will be on strike against the war May
1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Labor should stand in solidarity cross-union with the brave ILWU.
Citizens should stand in support and solidarity.
During the Vietnam War, Barbara Deming wrote "Never forget the power
of the strike. We could END THIS WAR NEXT WEEK if we wanted to."
Let's want to. Let's stand with the ILWU and ask them to lead us to
the next step. One day is both very real and deeply symbolic. Let's
help make it more and more real.
