WHY IRAN?
You will likely be aware that Iran, as a signatory of the Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), is enriching uranium for energy
production, but the US and others are concerned it may be enriching
uranium further for nuclear weapons as well. Over the past 2-3 years
there have been numerous reports on US threats to launch an aerial attack
on Iran, many believe the results of which would be disastrous.
Erlich’s latest book “The Iran Agenda: the Real Story of the US Policy and
the Middle East Crisis” is the result of his trips to Iran. Walter
Cronkite states “The Iran Agenda is vital reading for anyone concerned
about US foreign policy.” Erlich is also the co-author with Norman Soloman
of the national bestseller “Target Iraq: What the News Media Didn’t Tell
You.”
Mr. Erlich reports for a number of news outlets including NPR, Marketplace
Radio, Latino USA, Radio Deutche Welle, Australia Broadcasting Corp., and
Canadian Broadcasting Corp. Erlich also writes for the San Francisco
Chronicle, St. Petersburg Times and Christian Science Monitor. He taught
journalism for ten years at UC-Berkeley, as well as at San Francisco State
University and California State University at Hayward.
While no fee to attend will be charged, donations will be requested to
cover expenses and to provide an honorarium to Mr. Erlich. NOWI has a
website, which is
