Dear IHPers.
A few of you remember Dr. Eyad El-Sarraj who spoke at IHP seminar three years
ago. Eyad is a
psychiatrist and the founder/president of the Gaza Community Mental Health
Program and Secretary
General of the Palestinian Independent Commission for Citizen's Rights. You can
talk to him via
teleconference tomorrow, May 9th. Today is the last day to register. Dr.
El-Sarraj is now in the midst
of stem cell replacement therapy. He would deeply appreciate the opportunity to
reach beyond his
isolation tent to speak with us. He will also be receiving a significant human
rights award
next month for his commitment and extensive work on human rights, non-violence
resistance and
psycho-politics in Palestine. There is a lot to learn from Dr. El-Sarraj.
Please join us.

Teleconference--Rebuilding Alliance
Friends,
Many of you helped to support The Rebuilding Alliance effort to bring
attention to the situation in Gaza through rebuilding for the Nasrallah
family. Now that the family is ready to begin the move into their new
home, The Rebuilding Alliance is hosting a series of "housewarming"
teleconferences bringing together important voices both from Gaza and
elsewhere. The first is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 9th and features Dr.
Eyad Sarraj of Gaza Community Mental Health Program and Michael Nagler,
Professor Emeritus, Peace and Studies Conflict Program at the University
of California, Berkeley. (See details below.) You have an opportunity to
join this call and future ones described at the registration site. You
will be able to join the discussion and, also, to lend support to the
ongoing education/rebuilding work in Gaza. Please consider joining us.
Thank you for your continuing interest.
